Dr Rebecca Hiscutt PhD BSc (Hons) RD
On graduation from The University of Surrey with a first class honours degree in Nutrition & Dietetics I began my dietetic career as a research dietitian working at The University of Surrey. There I was part of the scientific team for Diet Trials, a project that investigated the effectiveness of several commercially available weight loss diets.
Following this research post, I worked as a clinical dietitian with the NHS at Kingston Hospital and gained experience in acute care dietetics as well as providing longer term nutrition care through outpatient clinics. Nutrition advice given includes a variety of conditions such as diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, cancer, disordered lipid levels, IBS, dysphagia and obesity.
I now plan to focus further on weight management and have completed my PhD at the University of Surrey researching the cardiovascular risk of the Atkins diet. Being part of the team at Surrey Dietetic Services allows me to maintain my interest in a broad range of areas of dietetics.
